Books Read: Jill Mansell - A Walk in the Park

Source - Received from publisher to review

It's been a while, but Lara Carson's back in Bath and lives are set to change as a result. Because Lara left her family and boyfriend Flynn eighteen years ago without a word to anyone. Why has no one heard from her since?

Her childhood best friend Evie is thrilled Lara's back and able to share her happiness.  Evie's about to walk down the aisle with her dream man, Joel. Or so she thinks...

Then there's Flynn Erskine, even more attractive now and stunned to see Lara again. The spark between them is as strong as ever, but how's Flynn going to react when he discovers the secret she's been keeping from him? Oh yes, there's a lot of catching up to be done...

If you love reading chick-lit then you're bound to have read several of Jill Mansell's books in the past, I'll admit to have read them all over the last ten years, so you'll be pleased to hear that she's back with her latest book A Walk in the Park.

When Lara returns to her home town of Bath for her father's funeral, it is with apprehension as she's not been back since she left after being kicked out of home at age 16.   She soon receives some shock news that she's inherited her childhood home so she decides to finally return to Bath but she doesn't return alone...

Her childhood friend Evie is delighted she's back and their friendship soon resumes as though they've never been apart and she'll definitely need Lara's support when she discovers some shocking news about her fiance Joel.  Meanwhile Lara's childhood sweetheart is shocked with the news that she has for him...

Although the main storyline of the book was about Lara's return home and her resuming her friendships with Evie and Flynn, there were plenty of other interesting characters and storylines to keep things interesting.

This was another fast paced book that I whizzed through in no time at all.  I'm already looking forward to her next book, let's hope I don't have to wait too long.

Will A Walk in the Park be included in your holiday reading?  Order your copy today from Amazon in paperback or Kindle format.  I'd like to thank Headline for sending me a copy of this book to review.
