Natalie Butterworth is a young twenty-something who is getting married in a few weeks after reluctantly agreeing to let her mother and sister arrange the wedding. She finds herself agreeing to all of their suggestions for an easy life even though none of them would be what she would have chosen herself!
When best friend Meg takes her for a night out to see a hypnotist at the local pub Natalie somehow ends up being hypnotised, instead of Meg, which results in her only ever being able to tell the truth which is very problematic for someone who is constantly telling little white lies so as to not offend others.
After upsetting her fiance by responding truthly to something he asks her, Natalie and Meg set off on a mission to try and track down the hypnotist to unhynpnotise her. Their mission sees them ending up in the village of Little Trooley where they meet some interesting locals including handsome Riley, who runs the local pub, but the hypnotist is nowhere to be found...
This was one of those books that you couldn't help but laugh out loud whilst you were reading, there were comedy moments right from the very first chapter when Natalie's good nature means she cannot complain about a hair cut!
Natalie was such a likeable character although at first I wanted to shout at her to stand up for herself so I was pleased to see her blossom as the story progressed. And as for Riley, can you fall in love with a character in a book?! He sounded like such a dish...
