I loved Ali Harris's debut novel Miracle on Regent Street so when I saw that she had a Christmas novella coming out, A Vintage Christmas, which featured Evie Taylor and Hardy's, I just had to buy a copy to be reacquainted with old friends.

Following the successful transformation of Hardy's department store, Evie has been run off her feet as the new creative director making sure that the store continues to thrive so much so that's she's still on work mode when she's she's supposed to be on a romantic break with boyfriend Sam!  Whilst out for a romantic work together Evie spots some gorgeous vintage shows in an abandoned shop window and is convinced they would be perfect for the Christmas stock at Hardy's so sets out to try and convince the store owner to sell his designs to Hardy's but she'll have her work cut out for her as he's just closed down his shop!  Will she be able to help him turn around his business as she did Hardy's?

The story actually begins in the summer during Evie and Sam's romantic break and then follows up through the coming months showing the impact that both Evie and Sam's jobs have on their relationship, and finishes with the most perfect and emotional ending at Christmas.

This was a short, if I'm honest a lot shorter than I was expecting as the second half of the download was actually an extract from Miracle on Regent Street, but sweet read but I'd have loved it to have been a little longer so that I could read more about Evie and the rest of the crew from Hardy's.  Maybe one day we'll meet them again in another full-length story, I can but hope...
