Book Giving Day: Win a copy of Blueprints by Barbara Delinsky, Jihadi by Yusuf Toropov or Fix You by Carrie Elks

Apparently today as well as being Valentine's Day, which in my opinion is too commercialised these days, is International Book Giving Day which is definitely more to my liking... I mean who doesn't love to give and receive books.

I have recently received a second copy of Blueprints by Barbara Delinsky which I will be reviewing later this month and had originally planned to run the giveaway alongside my review but I have decided to include the book as one of the choices the winner of this giveaway can pick.

Jamie MacAfee's life is almost perfect. She loves her fiancee, even if she hasn't quite worked out why she won't set a wedding date and she certainly adores her job, working as an architect on their family home renovation show. Meanwhile, her beloved mother Caroline has built up her confidence after a painful divorce, working closely alongside her daughter as the very successful host of Gut It!. Everything is going to plan, until the lives of both women are changed overnight.

When the TV network plan to replace Caroline with Jamie as the show's host, Caroline is left feeling horribly betrayed - and old in the eyes of the world. Then tragedy strikes, leaving Jamie guardian to her small orphaned step-brother and fiancee to a man who doesn't want the child.

As the blueprints they've built their lives around go up in flames, loyalties shift and new relationships tempt. Jamie and Caroline must decide what they really want - and discover where their future lies...

The other two choices are another two books I have received recently, Jihadi, the debut thriller from Yusuf Toropov or Fix You by Carrie Elks which Emma has previously reviewed.

A former intelligence agent stands accused of terrorism, held without charge in a secret overseas prison. His memoir is in the hands of a brilliant but erratic psychologist who has an agenda of her own, and her annotations paint a much darker picture. As the story unravels, we are forced to assess the truth for ourselves, and decide not only what really happened on one fateful overseas assignment but who is the real terrorist. Peopled by a diverse and unforgettable cast of characters, whose reliability as narrators is always questioned, and with a multi-layered plot heaving with unexpected and often shocking developments, Jihadi: A Love Story is an intelligent thriller that asks big questions. Complex, intriguing and intricately woven, this is an astonishing debut that explores the nature of good and evil alongside notions of nationalism, terrorism and fidelity, and, above all, the fragility of the human mind.

On New Year's Eve, 1999, Hanna and Richard meet. She is a born and bred Londoner with plans for a career in journalism. He is the son of a wealthy New Yorker and destined for Wall Street. As Hanna and Richard go back to their own worlds they keep in touch, and when Hanna has her heart broken it's Richard she turns to. They reunite and fall deeply, madly in love.

But they can't possibly imagine the ways their love will be tested. Fifteen years after they first meet, neither can bear to hear the other's name spoken. Then one day Hanna walks into Richard's office and reveals a shocking secret. Richard must decide if he can forgive her. And both need to choose whether to take a second chance on happiness, or if their love is beyond repair?

Giveaway is open to existing followers of the blog.  To be in with a chance of winning one of these three books, simply leave a comment telling me which book you would like if you won.  All names will be put into a bowl and the winner selected at random Wednesday afternoon.  The winner will be announced on Twitter and on the blog FB page so that the winner can message me with their address to enable me to post the book to them. N.B. Please do not add details of this giveaway to other sites without my permission.
