Books Read: Debbie Macomber - Rose Harbor in Bloom

Welcome to the Rose Harbor Inn, where every room has an inspiring new view, and every guest finds a second chance...

Jo Marie has started to feel at home running the Rose Harbor Inn. Now it's springtime, and in memory of her late husband, Paul, Jo Marie has designed a beautiful rose garden for the property and enlisted handyman Mark Taylor to help make it happen. Jo Marie and Mark don't always see eye-to-eye but deep down, she finds great comfort in his company. And while she still seeks a sense of closure, she welcomes her latest guests, who are on their own journeys.

Annie arrives in town to organise her grandparents' fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration. But she's struggling to move on from her broken engagement, and her grandparents themselves seem to be having trouble getting along. But all the best parties end with a surprise, and Annie is in for the biggest one of all.

Mary has achieved incredible success in business, yet serious illness has led her to face her sole regret in life. Almost nineteen years ago, she ended her relationship with her true love, George, and now she has returned to Cedar Cove to make amends.

Together, the women discover that sometimes you have to travel far from home to find the place where you really belong.

As a fan of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series, I was really happy when last year she started the Rose Harbor series, which is also set in Cedar Cove, as it felt like we were revisiting a familiar place.

In The Inn at Rose Harbor we were introduced to Jo Marie, a young widow, who had just bought the B&B to create a new life for herself in Cedar Cove. Now in Rose Harbor in Bloom it's time for us to see how she's settled in since we last met her and see how she's doing.

Jo Marie's new project is the creation of a Rose garden in memory of her husband Paul, with the help of local handyman Mark, but things aren't exactly going to plan so it's going to take a while to complete.

Meanwhile she's got her guest to look after to ensure that they have a memorable stay at the Inn.  Each of the guests have come to stay for their own reasons, and it's fair to say that the people who arrived and the people who leave are completely different as the Inn and Cedar Cove weaves its magic on their lives.

I really enjoyed revisiting Jo Marie, it's like meeting an old friend, and was pleased to see how settled she seemed to be in Cedar Cove so I cannot wait to see what Debbie Macomber has in store for her in the next installment.

One of the things I really enjoy about this new series is that even though it's about new people, Jo Marie, Mark and her guests, we still meet the odd familiar character that we've grown to love from her Cedar Cove series.  Debbie Macomber is adept at introducing the old and the new characters so effortlessly.

I received a review copy of this eBook from the publisher via NetGalley.  Amazon links: Paperback or Kindle
