Support your local bookshops today on Books Are My Bag day

Today is finally the day when us booklovers across the country can come together and say 'Books Are My Bag' and support our local bookshops.  I'm sure you've probably heard all about this campaign already via other social media sites but I'll do a brief recap anyway.

Books Are My Bag is a nationwide campaign running asking us book lovers to support our local bookshops as sadly the number of high street shops are dwindling on a daily basis.  The campaign kicks off today with bookshops across the country hosting 'The Big Bookshop Party' to celebrate everything that is good about books.

So why not head to your local bookshop now and join over booklovers salivating over the fabulous selection of books, treat yourself to a new book or two and you could also walk away with one of these cool canvas tote bags which you should definitely wear with pride like Jamie Oliver.

As well as the main campaign Books Are My Bag are also running the Make Your Mark competition where you can tell everyone what's so great about your local bookshop by submitting a quote about why this bookshop is your favourite with a photo of you with your Books Are My Bag tote bag.

Each month between now and the end of the year one winner will be selected and their entry will then be made into unique bookmarks for you and your nominated bookshop.  You'll also win £100 worth of Nation Book Tokens and a copy of Brutal Simplicity of Thought, the book which inspired the Books Are My Bag Campaign. You can enter via Twitter, Instagram or email - click here for more details.
