Cover Reveal: A Place for Us Part One by Harriet Evans

I'm honoured to have been asked to do the cover reveal for Harriet Evans new novel A Place for Us, her first with Headline Review, which is being published in January 2015.

However, the good news is that you don't have to wait until January to start reading as A Place for Us is also being published as a 4 part ebook serial on 31st July, 28th August, 25th September and concluding on 23rd October.

And I have to say the cover designer has done a beautiful job as seen in Part One below, it's simply stunning and I'm not just saying that because it features one of my favourite colours...

The house has soft, purple wisteria twining around the door.
You step inside.
The hall is cool after the hot summer’s day.
The welcome is kind and always warm.
Yet something makes you suspect life here can’t be as perfect as it seems.
After all, the brightest smile can hide the darkest secret.
But wouldn’t you pay in any price to have a glorious place like this?

Welcome to Winterfold.
Martha Winter’s family is finally coming home.

A PLACE FOR US is an emotionally charged novel that will wrap you up in a warm embrace as it nods to the golden age of epic women's fiction but with a vibrancy of its own.  The author introduces the Winter family, ostensibly a picture perfect household set in the beautiful bucolic surroundings of Winterfold.   The polished veneer of Martha & David’s household soon displays its shortcomings when the family finds themselves together under the pretence of a birthday celebration.  Before long, familial bliss gives way to revelatory secrets and failings but this no ordinary portrayal of family life; Harriet Evans has created an intellectual, beautifully crafted novel that weaves together love and loss over generations of a family who can no longer hold onto the secrets of the past.

The reader cannot fail to be emotionally enveloped by the Winterfold world; it is comforting and benevolent and as you turn the last page, you cannot help but feel like you are saying goodbye to old friends.
