I recently received a copy of Winter Siege to review but as it's not the type of book I would normally read and I'm currently struggling to clear current review pile, the publicist has kindly agreed that I can give this copy away to a follower. Fortunately this will now be reviewed on the blog as Janet has offered to review it for me from her own eBook copy.
Run, run, girl. In the name of God, run.
It's 1141 and freezing cold. Gwil, a battle-hardened mercenary, watches in horror as a little girl with red hair is dragged away by his own men. Caught in the middle of the fight for England she is just one more victim in a winter of atrocities.
But a strange twist of fate brings them together again. Gwil finds the girl close to death, clutching a sliver of parchment - and he knows what he must do. He will bring her back to life. He will train her to fight. And together, they will hunt down the man who did this to her.
But danger looms wherever they turn. As castle after castle falls victim to siege, the icy Fens ring with rumours of a madman, of murder - and of a small piece of parchment the cost of which none of them could have imagined . . .
Ariana Franklin's final, brilliant standalone novel, left incomplete at the time of her death, now finished by her daughter.
I'm sorry but as this is a heavy hardback I am going to have to restrict this to UK residents only as the cost of International postage would be too much. Enter via the Rafflecopter form below

ReplyDeleteOf all the books you've given away so far, this looks like the one I would most like to read. I came to historical fiction late in life, having avoided it for a couple of decades because I hated history so much at school. So I have a lot of catching up to do!
ReplyDeleteSounds an exciting book which I would love to read
ReplyDeleteThanks for this giveaway! I've only read one of Ariana Franklin's books, The Mistress of the Art of Death, which was great.
