Earlier this year the James Patterson BookShots series was launched, the inspiration behind the series is to meet the modern reader's desire for shorter-length 'shots' of action-packed entertainment that fit in with their busy lives, by offering them great stories in a more concise format. Personally I prefer a fuller-length novel to get my teeth stuck into but I do think that anything that might encourage someone who doesn't normally read to pick up a book and read is a great idea.
As well as the thrillers that we come to expect from bestselling author James Patterson, the BookShots series will contain a selection of romance stories that have been curated by James Patterson but written by romance authors as James readily admits "I don’t know that field well".
There are currently four romance titles published The Little Black Dress with Emily Raymond, Learning to Ride by Erin Knightley, The McCullogh Inn at Maine by Jen McLaughlin and The Mating Season by Laurie Horowitz with a further five books due to be published this year.
