It's my 5th Blogiversary!

I still cannot believe that it's been 5 years since I first set up this blog, 5 years which has seen the blog grow beyond my wildest dreams.  When I first set it up I had no idea what I was doing, and at times it still feels that way, but it was definitely one of the best decisions I made as my hobby has given me some amazing opportunities to read some brilliant books as well as the chance to meet and connect with fabulous authors and fellow book lovers.

Personally I've found this year tough, due to health issues and other factors, which has had a knock-on effect and affected my reading and reviewing.  But the great thing about the blogging community is that you know when you're having a rough day that there is always someone there willing to support you and give you the kick up the backside that you sometimes need LOL.  On that note I have to say a personal thank you to Emma and Louise who are not only fabulous reviewers but are great friends who have been there for me whenever I've needed a sounding board or advice.

Now that the sucky emotional stuff is out of the way, let's get onto the fun stuff.  As with the last couple of years I'm planning daily giveaways between now and the end of the month so first up is this Shakespeare tote bag that I bought earlier in the year which coincided with the celebrations commemorating the 400th anniversary of his death.

As with all giveaways on the blog, this one is open to existing followers of the blog as a thank you for your support.  The winner will be selected at random and contacted for their postal address to enable me to post the tote bag to you.  NB. Please do not add details of this giveaway to other sites without my permission.

  1. Hey Shaz, I'm sorry to hear this past year has been tough on you when it comes to blogging. I have to say that in terms of quality and quantity of posts nobody would've known! But I hope 2017 is much brighter for you :)

My favourite Shakespeare play is Much Ado About Nothing. I had the pleasure of seeing it on stage in London with David Tennant and Catherine Tate (both of whom I adore) and it was soooo funny! I also love the black and white Joss Whedon film.

  2. It's a tie between Macbeth and King Lear. I think Lear wins out, as he learns from his mistakes (unlike Macbeth). The relationship between daughter and father can be a complicated one 🤔
Huge congrats on 5 years of bookish fun. Hope to meet up again soon...

  13. Congratulations Sharon on 5 magnificent years - 3 and a half before I even knew what a blog was! I'd like to say a huge thank you for your generosity and support since I've been blogging. I am delighted we have had chance to meet in real life too and feel honoured to count you as a friend.

My favourite Shakespeare play is so difficult to choose. I love Macbeth because I've taught it so often it feels like a friend, but the passion in Antony and Cleopatra is wonderful too as is the romance of Romeo and Juliet. Perhaps it's easier to say I'm not so keen on Hamlet - usually want to slap him!
