Books Read: The List That Changed My Life by Olivia Beirne

Georgia loves wine, reality TV and sitting on the sofa after work. She does not love heights, looking at her bank account, going on dates, or activities that involve a sports bra. And she will never, ever take a risk.

That is, until her braver, bolder, big sister finds out that she won't be able to tick off the things she wanted to do before turning thirty, and turns to Georgia to help her finish her list.

With the birthday just months away, Georgia suddenly has a deadline to learn to grab life with both hands. Could she be brave enough to take the leap, for her sister?

And how might her own life change if she did?

I'd like to thank Anne Cater from Random Things Tours for inviting me to be a part of this blog tour and Headline for my copy of The List That Changed My Life to review which I received via NetGalley.

As someone who constantly has a to-do list on the go, although I don't seem to be very good at crossing things off them lately, this book immediately caught me eye so when I was invited to be a part of the blog tour I didn't hesitate to accept.

We all think we've got all the time in the world to cross things off our bucket lists but when Georgia's older sister Amy gets a health diagnosis which will prevent her from doing some of the things on her 'Before I'm Thirty' list, she challenges Georgia to complete them for her!  And in doing so sets Georgia on a trail of absolute chaos with unexpected results especially when she adds in a few extras specifically for Georgia.

I loved the whole concept of this storyline as sometimes we all need that little incentive to push us out of our comfort zones as most of us are creatures of habit, I know I am and it sounded like Georgia was too.  She certainly wouldn't have chosen to do many of the things on her list herself but what could possibly go wrong... well a lot as it would seem as I literally had tears from laughing at some of the situations that Georgia finds herself in especially when it came to her date with 'Tinder' Jack.

Olivia Beirne has created a whole cast of fabulous characters with of course Georgia and Amy leading the way, the sisterly bond between them was so strong and such a joy to read.  I haven't got a sister myself but if I did theirs would be the type of relationship I would want, being there for one another in their times of need and supporting each other through the good times and the bad although they can test each others limits too.

There was an element of inevitability about how it was all going to play out but to be honest I didn't really care as I was so caught up in this gorgeous, feel-good story about taking what life throws at you and running with it.  I was championing Georgia all the way in her endeavours to complete her challenges, how she does you'll just have to discover for yourself.

The List That Changed My Life was an entertaining debut from an up-and-coming author which was a total joy to read from start to finish so I'm eager to see where the writing of Olivia Beirne takes us next.
