When 9 year old Avery disappears following an incident with her father, everyone is immediately concerned. Did she run away or was she abducted? The more the police investigate, the more people come under suspicion as it seems that there are many dark pasts and guilty secrets being kept behind the closed doors of Connaught Street.

From the outset it is known that Avery is a child with complex behavioural issues that can cause her to act and behave in a way that would push people to their absolute limits. As one day turns into two, then three there are fears that Avery may have come to some serious harm. Will she be found before it's too late? 

As soon as I started reading I was trying to work out what could have happened to Avery. I had so many theories as to who could be involved as one by one the neighbours are investigated but the author threw in so many twists that you never really knew who was telling the truth or who to believe. None of the characters were particularly likeable and I was constantly trying to read between the lines to see if I could figure out who might be involved but each time I thought I'd worked it out, something would be discovered that would make me change my mind. Did I work it out, I can categorically say that the author threw me for a loop and I had no clue! 

I devoured Everyone Here is Lying in a single day as I became so invested wanting to know what exactly happened to Avery on that fateful day. This was the first book that I've read by Shari Lapena but looking on my Kindle it looks like I have bought a couple of her previous books that are still unread so I plan to rectify that sooner rather than later.
