I recently bought a copy of Emily Henry's latest book Funny Story but when I got home I realised that I already had a copy on my Kindle so decided that I'd run a giveaway for it so that a follower of the blog could read it for themselves. I then decided that I wanted to include some other goodies as well so bought this cute Easter Bunny bookmark on Facebook and then bought a Creme Egg bar and a bag of Squashies Drum Chick when I went shopping yesterday.

Blogiversary Giveaway: Celebrating 13 years of Shaz's Book Blog

I can't believe another year has passed since I set up the blog 13 years ago (technically the anniversary is tomorrow but I've decided to host the giveaway today). Although I'm personally still on a bit of break from reviewing (I've decided I'm probably going to be on a break for the rest of the year and hoping to resume reading and reviewing in the new year), I'm still hosting regular reviews from Emma.

I can't believe another year has flown by as it feels like only yesterday we were celebrating last year's blogiversary but here we are on the 12th anniversary of setting up Shaz's Book Blog! 

Sadly for me nothing much has changed in the last year and it's been very hit and miss on the review front and I've read nowhere near as many books as in years gone by. But thankfully Emma has been a trooper with her fantastic reviews, especially over the Summer months when I haven't reviewed anything, so at least there has been something to share on the blog.

I can't believe August is almost over and in one way I'm glad that time is going by so fast but in another way I want time to slow down. Life for me is still a little up in the air which is seriously affecting my concentration levels meaning that I'm still reading very little so no reviews likely to be coming anytime soon. I already had the My Weekend is All Booked tote bag in my box of bookish goodies so bought the book and Percy Pig Easter party time foam gums and Milky Bar Mini Eggs chocolate bar when I went shopping yesterday 😊

I've had The People on Platform 5 by Clare Pooley on my Kindle for ages but I still haven't gotten around to reading it so I must remedy that soon.

How is it December already, where has the year gone? It's definitely been another surreal year for me as I'm still working from home full-time which has its advantages but I do miss the daily chats with my friends in the office. It's not quite the same virtually or by messaging.

I know they say time flies as you get older but it doesn't really feel like a year ago since we celebrated the 10th anniversary of setting up this blog. But here we are, another year on and sadly it's been another up and down year for me personally but I'm now on some new medications so I'm hoping that my energy levels will start to improve so that I can get back into the swing of reading and blogging. 

Fortunately, Emma has been holding down the fort with her reviews as otherwise there wouldn't be much to post as I haven't even had the energy to organise guest features with authors but I'm hoping to start featuring guest content again in 2023.

A few weeks ago I decided that I was going to run another giveaway on the blog to join in the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend celebrations which is where the fun part of shopping around began 😉 The first items that made it into the giveaway bundle were these cute Corgi chocolates I bought in Marks and Spencer and this Crown and Book charms metal bookmark that I bought from Etsy. 

No sooner had I decided that I wanted to try and find some suitably themed books to include in the giveaway then I saw an announcement on Twitter of the Big Jubilee Read, a reading campaign celebrating books that have been published during the Queen's reign. I can't believe that it's that time of the year again especially when this year has been such a strange one but I couldn't let my blog anniversary go by without doing a giveaway to say thank you for all your support over the last 9 years. 

As you may have noticed I have been struggling with reading and blogging over the last year or so but thankfully the blogging and book community are always on hand for moral support, both in good times and the bad. Food & Drink Month Giveaway: Win a trio of 'Dessert' Kernow Chocolate bars

Today I have decided to run a bonus one day giveaway for this trio of 'Dessert' range chocolate bars that I found in my local gift shop.  The Kernow factory and Visitor Centre is actually based down in Cornwall, so a long way from here in Wiltshire, but when I saw that they were based on traditional British desserts I couldn't resist buying some to give away but the biggest dilemma I had was as to which ones to buy as there were another couple, Eton Mess and Banoffee, as well as other flavours but in the end I settled for these three.
