Emma's Easter Giveaway: Win an Easter Giveaway

Another day, another giveaway this bank holiday weekend as Emma has very generously offered to buy one follower of the blog a £10 Amazon voucher.

If you're anything like Emma and myself your TBR piles, both virtual and physical, are overflowing but despite this I'm sure there are many books on your wishlist. So which book(s) would you buy if you won?

Giveaway: Win a copy of what if I never get over you by Paige Toon

When I was invited to be a part of the what if i never get over you blog tour I immediately said yes as I have read and loved most of Paige Toon's books (I think the only ones I have not read are her YA series) so hoped that this would be the book that would pull me out of my reading slump. I thought that a date towards the end of the tour, although didn't realise it was Easter weekend, would give me plenty of time to read for review. Sadly despite enjoying what I have read so far, I am two thirds through, I didn't finish in time to review for today as I am only managing to read a chapter at a time before my concentration levels wane and tiredness hits. I'm hoping that I'll be able to share my review by the end of the month... fingers crossed!

So instead to honour my blog tour commitment I have decided to offer one regular follower of the blog the chance to win a copy what if i never get over you to read for themselves as I received a proof copy (which I'm reading for review) as well as a finished copy which will be the giveaway prize along with a postcard, sticker and bookmark that I received with the proof copy.

THE GREATER THE LOVE, THE HARDER THE FALL . . .

Ellie didn’t expect to fall in love while travelling in Europe. But she also didn’t expect to meet a man like Ash.

Three blistering days in Lisbon is all it takes to form an unforgettable connection – deep enough for them to plan to meet again in Madrid. But Ellie arrives late, and Ash is nowhere to be found.

Easter Giveaway: Win a bundle of treats including Funny Story by Emily Henry

I recently bought a copy of Emily Henry's latest book Funny Story but when I got home I realised that I already had a copy on my Kindle so decided that I'd run a giveaway for it so that a follower of the blog could read it for themselves. I then decided that I wanted to include some other goodies as well so bought this cute Easter Bunny bookmark on Facebook and then bought a Creme Egg bar and a bag of Squashies Drum Chick when I went shopping yesterday.

Daphne always loved the way Peter told their story. That is until it became the prologue to his actual love story with his childhood bestie, Petra.

Which is how Daphne ends up rooming with her total opposite and the only person who could possibly understand her predicament: Petra's ex, Miles.

As expected, it’s not a match made in heaven – that is until one night, while tossing back tequilas, they form a plan.

World Book Day Giveaway: Win a mini book tote bag & £10 National Book Token

Today is World Book Day so it seemed only fitting to do a giveaway for this cute mini World Book Day tote bag that I found on Temu (I actually bought it almost 18 months ago but forgot to run giveaway last year! 😳) .

Sadly due to the exorbitant cost of postage I couldn't afford to include a book or 2 in this bundle so instead I'm adding a £10 National Book Token for you to buy books for yourself. If you are anything like me you will have loads of books on your wishlist so the toughest decision will be as to what books you will treat yourself to 📚 with your voucher.

Emma's Festive Giveaway: Win a £10 Amazon Voucher

As one giveaway ends it's now time for the final giveaway of 2024 which once again has been generously donated by Emma who is offering one follower the chance to win a £10 Amazon voucher to treat yourself to a book or 2 for Christmas. Emma has singlehandedly been holding the fort on the blog for most of the year as 2024, especially the last 4 or 5 months, has been a real struggle for me reading wise so I'd like to say a huge thank you for her friendship and support.

Blogiversary Giveaway: Celebrating 13 years of Shaz's Book Blog

I can't believe another year has passed since I set up the blog 13 years ago (technically the anniversary is tomorrow but I've decided to host the giveaway today). Although I'm personally still on a bit of break from reviewing (I've decided I'm probably going to be on a break for the rest of the year and hoping to resume reading and reviewing in the new year), I'm still hosting regular reviews from Emma.

Normally I would host a couple of giveaways, a bundle of goodies as well as a Halloween themed bundle plus a giveaway from Emma for a £10 Amazon evoucher, but due to increased postage costs I've decided to combine them all into one.

Giveaway: Win a copy of The Spy Coast by Tess Gerritsen

You know you have a bit of a book problem, although it's a nice one to have, when you buy a book then come home and realise that you had previously bought a copy that you have not read yet! But that means good news for one of the blog followers as I have decided to run a giveaway for this spare copy giving you the chance to win it to read for yourself.

The book in question is The Spy Coast by Tess Gerritsen, the first in a new series The Martini Club introducing Maggie Bird.

Maggie Bird is many things. A chicken farmer. A good neighbour. A seemingly average retiree living in the seaside town of Purity. She's also a darned good rifle shot. And she never talks about her past.

Summer Giveaway: Win a bundle of Summery Bookish Goodies

As it's the start of my week off I've decided to celebrate with a giveaway for this bundle of Summery themed goodies. I'm sounding like a broken record in that my reading and blogging mojo is still very much hit and miss so I'm not sure when I'll be back reviewing but thankfully Emma still has plenty of reviews coming up in the next few months.

Bank Holiday Weekend Giveaway: Win a bundle of Bookish Goodies

As it's a bank holiday weekend and the start of my week off work I've decided to celebrate with a giveaway for this bundle of goodies. Sadly my reading and blogging mojo is still very much absent but I'm hoping that a relaxing week may recharge my batteries and I'll finally be able to get back into the swing of things but thankfully Emma is holding the fort with her fabulous reviews.

Birthday Giveaway: Win a Red & Black Bookbandz & £10 Book Voucher

It's my birthday today and although it's traditional on birthdays to receive gifts, and I can truly say I have been totally spoilt, I also wanted to share the love and give a little something back and thank you lovely followers for all your support over the last 12 years.

So today I have a giveaway on the blog for this Red, Black & Silver bead Bookbandz (bought from Karen on FB, check out her page here for more of her fabulous creations). I had also planned on buying a book token but didn't get around to buying one so I'll either buy one this week or else will order a £10 Amazon voucher to make up the prize. *Updated - National Book Token has now been bought so will be sent with your BookBandz.

Festive Giveaway: Win a bundle of bookish goodies

How is it even December already? I feel like I haven't achieved much at all this year and time has just run away from me so let's see how many of my 2023 goals I actually manage to cross off my list this month!

It wouldn't be the festive season without a giveaway or two on the blog, the first of which is for a bundle of bookish goodies that I've wrapped (apart from the sweets) for the element of surprise.

The only clues I'll give you is that the bundle includes:

  • 1 x tote bag
  • 1 x Festive Read
  • 1 x Christmas Crime

Blogiversary Giveaway: Win a bundle of Halloween themed goodies

As it's Halloween this week it seemed only fitting to include a Halloween themed giveaway as part of this year's blogiversary celebrations but as per usual it took me until the last minute to decide what to include.

In the end I settled on including a copy of Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie (Confession time I have never read an Agatha Christie book although have seen many of the Miss Marple and Poirot films adapted from her books).

When a Hallowe’en party turns deadly, it falls to Hercule Poirot to unmask a murderer…

During a night of party games, Joyce Reynolds boasts that she once witnessed a murder. No one believes her, but then she is found drowned, face down in an apple-bobbing tub.

Set against a night of trickery and the occult, Hercule Poirot and Ariadne Oliver must race to uncover the real evil responsible for this ghastly murder.

Blogiversary Giveaway: Win a bundle of Bookish goodies

I can't believe another year has flown by as it feels like only yesterday we were celebrating last year's blogiversary but here we are on the 12th anniversary of setting up Shaz's Book Blog!

Sadly for me nothing much has changed in the last year and it's been very hit and miss on the review front and I've read nowhere near as many books as in years gone by. But thankfully Emma has been a trooper with her fantastic reviews, especially over the Summer months when I haven't reviewed anything, so at least there has been something to share on the blog.

Despite my reading and blogging slump I couldn't let this occasion pass by without running a giveaway or two to celebrate, the first of which is for this bundle of goodies below.

Giveaway: Win a copy of Vet at the End of the World by Jonathan Hollins (UK only)

Today it's my pleasure to be hosting a giveaway to give readers the chance to win a copy of A Vet at the End of the World by Jonathan Hollins. Sadly we weren't in a position to read this one for review but we still wanted to support Anne at Random Things Tours so offered to host a promotional post instead.

A vet’s life with a difference: all creatures great and small in the diverse and distinctive South Atlantic islands.

The role of resident vet in the British Overseas Territories of the Falklands, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha and Ascension encompasses the complexities of caring for the world’s oldest land animal – a 200-year-old giant tortoise – and MoD mascots at the Falklands airbase; pursuing mystery creatures and invasive microorganisms; relocating herds of reindeer; and rescuing animals in extraordinarily rugged landscapes, from subtropical cloud forests to volcanic cliff faces.

Giveaway: Win a copy of A Winter in New York by Josie Silver

When I was invited to be a part of this blog tour I couldn't resist as have loved Josie Silver's previous books and New York has always been one of the places on my bucket list to visit. Maybe I'll get there one day but for now I'll have to settle with experiencing the sights through books.

I was originally supposed to be reviewing A Winter in New York today but sadly my reading mojo has been noticeably AWOL over the last few months meaning that I didn't quite finish reading the book in time to review.

So instead to honour my blog tour commitment I have decided to offer one of the regular followers of the blog the chance to win a copy of A Winter in New York to read for themselves. I'm sure that you'll enjoy Iris and Gio's story as much as I am, I've less than a 1/4 of the book left to read so hopefully will be able to review within the next week or so.

Where better to start again than New York?

Iris arrives in the city of dreams, intent on restarting her culinary career, and leaving her recent heartache behind.

Wandering the streets at a famous food festival, Iris feels like she's living in a movie. Then she stumbles upon a gelateria that looks strangely familiar. Inside, she meets Gio: a perfect leading man with an irresistible smile - and a crisis of his own.

Bank Holiday Giveaway: Win a bundle of Bookish Goodies

I can't believe August is almost over and in one way I'm glad that time is going by so fast but in another way I want time to slow down. Life for me is still a little up in the air which is seriously affecting my concentration levels meaning that I'm still reading very little so no reviews likely to be coming anytime soon. Fortunately Emma is holding the fort with her fantastic reviews and I'm hoping to resume some author features on the blog in the upcoming months to counter the lack of reviews.

As I've got a bonus day off today due to the bank holiday weekend I've decided to celebrate by hosting another giveaway for this bundle of goodies.

Giveaway: Win a Summer Read of your choice

I had planned to buy a few goodies to run a Summer bundle giveaway but sadly life has gotten in the way recently and it fell by the wayside. So instead I have decided to run a giveaway for you to choose a book yourself, either an eBook which can be gifted via Amazon, or paperback which I'll buy and either post to you myself or will order to be posted direct to you.

Below are a few of the recent summery books that have caught my eye which might appeal to you, or maybe you've got your eye on something else.

The Beach Holiday by Isabelle Broom

A somebody. A nobody.
A love story waiting to be written . . .

All aspiring novelist Honor has ever wanted is to be successful. It's the only way she can impress the father who abandoned her, the boyfriend who gave up on her, and the nagging voice in her head that tells her she's not good enough.

Still, wanting to tell a story is not the same as having a story to tell, and Honor knows she needs to find a new source of inspiration.

When she's invited to spend a summer abroad in The Hamptons, Honor realises it could be the dream setting for a book, especially when a chance encounter provides her with the perfect leading man.

But blurring fact and fiction is a dangerous game, and Honor soon discovers that writing her way to success might come at the expense of her own happy ever after . . .

Happy Place by Emily Henry

Two exes. One pact.
Could this holiday change everything?

Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple - they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

Every year, they take a holiday from their lives to drink far too much wine with their favourite people in the world.

Except this year, they are lying through their teeth, because Harriet and Wyn broke up six months ago. And they still haven't told anyone.

But the cottage is for sale so this is the last time they'll all be here together. They can't bear to break their best friends' hearts so they'll fake it for one more week.

But how can you pretend to be in love - and get away with it - in front of the people who know you best?

Giveaway: Win a copy of Seven Exes by Lucy Vine

I was originally supposed to be reviewing Seven Exes as part of the blog tour last week but sadly I was struck down with a migraine on Friday, which has lasted longer than the normal couple of days, so I haven't been able to stay online long enough to prep and write the review but am hoping to within the next couple of days once my headache finally clears.

So instead to honour my blog tour commitment, albeit a few days later than scheduled, I have decided to offer one of the regular followers of the blog the chance to win a copy of Seven Exes to read for themselves. I'm sure that you'll be able to relate to many of the situations that Esther's journey takes her on as I did.

Esther is out with her two friends, bemoaning her lack of relationship, when she finds a magazine from the noughties. Seeking comfort – and a laugh – she turns to the dating advice only to find an article that feels a little too close to home. According to the journalist, there are seven people a woman will date before finding the one:

The First Love, The Work Mistake, The Friend with Benefits, The Overlap, The Missed Chance, The Bastard and The Serious One.
