Sometimes love happens when you least expect it ...
As the singer in a wedding band, Romily Parker has seen her fair share of happy endings, even though her own love life isn't quite as simple.
On the last Saturday before Christmas, shortly after disastrously declaring her love for best friend Charlie, Romily has a brief encounter with a handsome stranger whose heart-stopping kiss changes everything.
Determined to find him again, Romily embarks on a year-long quest, helped (and sometimes hindered) by enthusiastic Uncle Dudley, cake-making Auntie Mags and flamboyant Wren. Will she find the man of her dreams? Or could true love be closer than she thinks?
The wait was definitely worth it as I devoured the book in less than a day....all thoughts of housework, shopping etc. went right out of my mind as once I started reading I did not want to stop and finally I finished reading it at 2am this morning!
You can picture the scene you'd just told your best friend and band mate, Charlie. that you were in love with him only for the feelings not to be reciporated. In utter humiliation you flee the scene into the Christmas market outside and then to add further embarassment to your day you run straight into toy stall knocking everything off. This is precisely what happens to Romily but then a tall dark stranger comes to her rescue and sweeps her literally off her feet with a breathtaking kiss. But before she can find out anything about him he is called away and he disappears into the crowd.
Having told her friend Wren, Uncle Dud and Auntie Mags about this encounter she decides on her birthday to give herself a year to try and find PK (Phantom Kisser) and so she sets up a blog where she soon gets encouragement from complete strangers in her quest to find this mysterious man.
As the year flys by and with many encounters with men who she thought may be PK, Romily is resigned to the fact that she may never meet her mystery man again. So does she get her fairytale ending? You'll have to read the book for yourself to find out ...
