Books Read: Holly Martin - One Hundred Proposals

‘Is there really such a thing as a perfect proposal?

Over the next hundred days I intend to find out. I will find one hundred ways to propose to our Chief Proposer Suzie McKenzie and post the results here for your enjoyment. One thing’s for sure, not one of my proposals will be on top of the Eiffel Tower with a dozen red roses.’

Best friends Suzie and Harry are partners in romance. That is, they run the.PerfectProposal.com, coming to the aid of would-be grooms to create the ultimate marriage proposal.

But when Harry decides to catapult the business into the big leagues with a PR stunt all Suzie can see is a hundred days of heartbreak stretching ahead of her. But however exotic the location, or breath-takingly romantic the setting, Suzie has to keep remembering that ‘Marry Me?’ is the one question she can’t say yes to.

This business proposal should come with one hundred broken heart warnings…

One hundred proposals, one hundred chances to say yes.

I loved Holly Martin's winning short story One Hundred Proposals which was published in last year's Sunlounger anthology so was extremely excited when she announced that she was writing a fuller length version of the story.

In One Hundred Proposals we meet Suzie and her best friend Harry who together run PerfectProposal.com, an online website offering suggestions for how to create the perfect proposal.

As a way to boost business Harry comes up with an idea to try out 100 unique proposals on Suzie herself to try and find the perfect one which he blogs about but little does he know of the torment that he's putting Suzie through...

There's only one word that I can use to describe this novel, wow, wow and triple wow... I loved the concept from start to finish and found myself being whisked along with Suzie to the various destinations and activities that were involved in the various proposals.... they went from the downright crazy to the most romantic setting I could ever picture... I think I would have said Yes quite early on as Harry sounded simply divine.

One Hundred Proposals takes you on a journey of highs and lows as Suzie and Harry fight a whole myriad of emotions, we learn a little about both of their pasts which explains why they are both reluctant to let their guards down and trust people.  If you're like me you'll actually find yourself getting frustrated over the misunderstandings between them and you'll want to bang their heads together to make them see what's under their noses...

But the ultimate lesson that you will take away from reading this novel is that it doesn't really matter where you are, it's who you're with that really matters.  A simply stunning read that I cannot recommend highly enough, I cannot wait to see what Holly has in store for us next!

I'd like to thank Holly for sending me a copy of her book to review.
