Guest Book Review: Jane Linfoot - High Heels & Bicycle Wheels

Reviewed by Tanya Phillips

Meet Bryony: she’s a fun-loving, very single TV production assistant whose idea of sport is the Jimmy Choo sales scrum.

Meet Jackson: Cycling’s bad boy superstar. Injured and out of a certain race this summer, without his training, he’s looking for another distraction…

Bryony’s facing a triple whammy – her last single friend just named the day, her mother’s offering to have her eggs frozen, and the guy she’s loved from afar, forever, has just got hitched. So she’s more than happy to accept the offer of a totally out of character but seriously steamy one night of no-strings fun. Especially when the guy in question is so attractive he even looks good in Lycra!

Jackson’s on the lookout for a new career but if the opportunity to work on TV means a fortnight with the most uptight woman in the world, he’d rather not bother. He never goes in for seconds – and who in their right mind would head off in a campervan, with a woman who irons her knickers?

Add in a tandem (yes a tandem) and fast forward to double trouble for a summer neither of them will ever forget!

High Heels and Bicycle Wheels features a character called Bryony Marshall, who loves her high heels, and a bike racer called Jackson Green who are thrown together, by circumstances outside of their control, on the back of a tandem bike on the first day that they meet.

Bryony is a production assistant for TV program Sporting Chances but finds herself having to take over when the person doing the interview and bike ride with Jackson is taken ill and she is the only one that can cover.  But there's one slight problem... she hasn’t been on a bike since childhood and hates not being in control.

There was an immediate sexual chemistry between the characters.  Bryony’s first view of Jackson is him putting on his bicycle shorts in the shelter of his car tailgate but he is wearing nothing underneath and she cannot avert her eyes.  He also likes what he sees and cannot believe his luck to have this woman close up to him on the bike! The flirtatious banter between the characters is fun and there is a bond between them on screen which others can see.  This leads to further filming adventures that include a campervan, hotels and a big posh house whilst they plan the routes.

If, when, how they ever get together you will have to read to see.  I can say that the sex content in this book is quite intense but adding alongside the story makes it very interesting.

I really liked the storyline in this book and found myself admiring the characters for their want to be in charge and for what you learn about their past and how it affects them now.  This book has the ability to make you think about things and to make you happy.  I will certainly look out for more books by this author.  Happy reading.

I'd like to thank Jane for sending me a copy of this eBook and Tanya for reviewing it for the blog.
