Blogiversary Giveaway: Win a signed copy of Why Mummy Drinks by Gill Sims

On Saturday I went to a few events as part of Salisbury Literary Festival and the first event of the day was Gill Sims & Asia Mackay in conversation with Christina Bunce.  Both authors books couldn't be more different, I recently did a Q&A with Asia which you can read here, and yet the combination worked really well.

Although I had seen Gill's books talked about on social media I've not read either Why Mummy Drinks or her latest book Why Mummy Swears as I didn't think they would appeal to me as I'm not a mother myself but yet I could totally relate to some of the topics that were discussed on the day.

So today's giveaway is for this signed copy of Why Mummy Drinks (there might be a giveaway later in the week for a signed copy of Asia's book Killing It 😉).

It is Mummy’s 39th birthday. She is staring down the barrel of a future of people asking if she wants to come to their advanced yoga classes, and polite book clubs where everyone claims to be tiddly after a glass of Pinot Grigio and says things like ‘Oooh gosh, are you having another glass?’

But Mummy does not want to go quietly into that good night of women with sensible haircuts who ‘live for their children’ and stand in the playground trying to trump each other with their offspring’s extracurricular activities and achievements, and boasting about their latest holidays.

Instead, she clutches a large glass of wine, muttering ‘FML’ over and over again. Until she remembers the gem of an idea she’s had…
